"The
Best in Ancient Athens"
Have stayed many days and nights at the Attalos Hotel. It is truly the greatest
home away from home.
(A

Stayed here with my brother in Sept 2003. The staff were all really lovely, our
room was large, light and airy, with decent sized bathroom. Very comfortable.
Even though you were above a busy street, with the windows closed (they must
be triple glazed and crucially there was air-conditioning) you couldn't hear
a thing. But when not sleeping, the balcony with chairs on it is fine people-watching
territory! Really nice restaurants nearby, ESPECIALLY THE TAVERNA PROTOGENOUS
just round the corner. AMAZING VALUE FOR MONEY. Roof Bar and Garden is also brilliant,
with stunning views of Acropolis. Very good position, close to most archaeological
sites. STAY HERE!!!I can't wait to get back!.

80 - room Attalos Hotel, bustles during the day but is
fairly quiet at night. Rooms are large, with air- conditioning
and many have views of the Acropolis or Lycabettus.

(Written from: The New York Times,

furnished rooms (elevator accessible) with a print and
mirror in each room adding a bit more pizzazz than usual
for a budget hotel in Athens. Twelve rooms in the back
have large balconies with view of the Acropolis, and the
same view blesses the spectacular roof garden, which has
the most stunning vista in town. The very friendly manager,
Kostas Zisis, speaks English.

north of the Monastiraki metro stop , has been popular
with past readers and grows steadily in our estimation.
I t is a large, multistory building with comfortable, clean
quiet rooms, an accommodating staff, and a grand, beautifully
landscaped rooftop bar with a drop dead view of - you know
what. The Attalos also free luggage storage and a discount
for our readers.
